May, glorious May
The blackbird’s kaleidoscopic refrain
When Winter’s wrath at last has passed away
And Spring gives way to Summer days
When flowers bloom in beds of verdant green
And Nature’s benignant spirit reigns supreme
The Sun’s radiant beams penetrate through leaves
Illuminating the green cathedral canopy
Of Beech and Birch and Weeping Willow
The hum of bumble bees on a grassy pillow
And staring up through milky haze
At clouds that veil the fiery blaze
We take a breath and to God give praise
For these rare and longed-for halcyon days
